For many years I have been archiving U of M Football Games on both audio and videotape, and have found that neither the University of Michigan or radio stations that carry the games kept much, if anything, of these broadcasts… but I have! It was also my pleasure to have produced the two albums (now on CD) featuring the greatest moments of Wolverine Football with the late Bob Ufer. Many past games are available to Michigan fans who wish to re-live the memories. Games are available on CD’s (audio) or DVD (video).

This special service is not for profit or personal gain. Videos are being provided for private use and not for public display, re-sale or re-broadcast.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THESE FOOTBALL VIDEOS Most games feature audio with the late Bob Ufer, until the ‘81 Iowa game which was his last broadcast. Starting mid-season 1981, nearly ALL games have radio audio with Frank Beckmann calling the games and color analyst Jim Brandstatter! Some games feature other partners with Beckmann like former player Bob Thornbladh and Coach Jerry Hanlon. You must remember that in the 70’s and 80’s NOT EVERY GAME was televised. Today fans are somewhat spoiled by the amount of TV coverage U of M receives but in the days prior to ESPN, ESPN-2, ESPN-Plus, Classic ESPN and the Big Ten Network, radio was the only medium for Michigan Football; this is why several games are via Art’s single-angle camera in the late 70’s and 80’s.
Starting in the 2006 season, games were no longer on WJR. UM shifted to WWJ-AM 950 and radio audio, from this point on, featured Beckmann and Brandstatter with new field reporter Doug “Crash” Karsch from WXYT-FM (“97.1 The Ticket”), and the Michigan Sports Network produced by IMG. After the 2013 season, Frank Beckmann “retired” from the UM broadcasts. Reports circulated that it was a “forced release” from comments made on Beckmann’s WJR talk show that led to his demise. So, beginning in 2014, Jim Brandstatter was moved over to the play-by-play chair with new color analyst Dan Dierdorf. Dan and Jim played together in 1969 and 1970 for Bo Schembechler and have an amazing on-air chemistry. Also added to the broadcasts was former UM player and NFL alum, Jon Jansen! Games are produced by Learfield IMG College Sports.

2011: The Brady Hoke Starts Seasons 132 & 133. There are several “keeper” games from this period. In case your DVR taped the wrong channel or someone deleted your favorite game, we have them…and better than what you’ve already recorded.  His first game was against the Broncos of Western Michigan and it was the first game ever to never be completed in the history of Wolverine Football.  A major line of severe storms stopped the game near the end of the third quarter, and we used clips from every “rain song” ever recorded to accent this historic game!   The very next week it was the incredible Notre Dame game…the first night contest ever in the Big House.  It truly lived up to the hype.  This is a two-DVD set with lots of pre-game ceremonies that include Desmond Howard’s recognition to the Hall of Fame, the 9-11 tribute and all of the things NOT shown on television. It’s our best effort ever!  The win over Ohio State after seven years of losses was also phenomenal and is another 2 DVD set.  In Hoke’s second year, the huge win over Michigan State was amazing and yup, it’s another double DVD set with lots of extras.  The Northwestern over-time thriller also includes a tribute to Willy Wonka, the season’s best halftime show. Sadly the magic faded fast and after the 2013 season he was gone. Jim Harbaugh was named head coach in 2014.

Memories of Bo Schembechler from Television News This very special 120-minute DVD contains extensive TV coverage of the passing of our beloved Bo from Detroit TV stations WJBK Fox 2, WDIV Local 4, and WXYZ Ch. 7, plus FSN-Detroit, ESPN, and ABC Television.  Among those featured with reflections about Bo are: Don Shane, Bernie Smilovitz, Dan Miller, Steve Garagiola, Fred McLeod, Steve Courtney, Devin Scillian, Carmen Harlan, Dave LewAllen, Ray Sayah, Stephen Clark, Ron Kramer, Jim Brandstatter, Earl Bruce, Frank Beckmann, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Jamie Morris, Stan Edwards, Jon Falk, Bonnie Bernstein, Chris Fowler, Mitch Albom, Wendi Nix, Brent Musburger, Doug Karsch, Rick Leach, Don Nehlen, Billy Taylor, Ara Parseghian, Lou Holtz and Lloyd Carr.  The DVD ends with an FSN “Tribute To Bo” hosted by Mickey York, and closing comments from WJR personality/UM football announcer Frank Beckmann.  Special thanks to U-M fan Bill Adlhoch for recording it all! $15.00

THE 2010 VICTORS RALLY!
In February 2010, Michigan Football great Rick Leach, in concert with local businessman Pete Nichols, hosted the U of M Victors Rally at the Michigan Theatre as a benefit for Ann Arbors Adopt-A-Family. This was the video shown on the big movie screen! It features the three (3) big eras of Michigan Football: The Bo Schembechler Years, The Gary Moeller Years and the Lloyd Carr Years. Nearly all of the audio is RADIO broadcasts with the late Bob Ufer plus Frank Beckmann & Jim Brandstatter. Many of the most memorable moments are on this DVD! $20.00
